Critter Sketch Challenge

Critter Sketch has a color challenge today--and it's just perfect for the season.

This color palette challenge came from design-seeds.

Using this color scheme, I of course made a Halloween card.  I used an image from soft pencil digi images, as I love this little witch!  I paper pieced the pumpkin and added the Martha Steward spider web punch.

Oldie but Goodie

For Oldie but Goodie Day at Bugaboo, I chose to make a recipe card.  I'm fixing a recipe book for Liz with some of our favorite and easy recipes.  This chicken tortilla soup certainly fits that bill.  If you have some leftover chicken, give this a try (I used bought rotisserie chicken).  It is great!  The image is one of the $1 images called Chick.

New Release

Jodie (at Bugaboo) has the perfect image today for a friend going through some hard times.  The image is a little duck.  I paired it up with a computer-generated sentiment "Hang in There" and I know I can find many uses for this card.  Be sure to check this release out.

Critter Sketch Challenge

The challenge at Critter Sketch is to create a card that shows your favorite part of Fall.  I thought of many things--the colors of changing leaves, apples, apple butter, pumpkin pie, high school football, cooler temperatures, crisp air, no humidity--but I kept returning to my very favorite part--SCHOOL!  As a student I loved school.  As a parent I loved when my children returned to school, and as a teacher, it was such an exciting time of the year.  I guess I would have to say that even though I am retired now, school (for me) is the number one thing about Fall.  For my card I used the school bus image from Soft Pencil, our sponsor for this month.  What cute images they have.  Be sure to check them out!

soft pencil

For my card I used Papertrey cardstocks, school DP, some very old polka dot ribbon I have, a little bling, and my copics.  I think I love school cards almost as much as I loved school!

Bugaboo Challenge

The challenge at Bugaboo today is a photo inspiration.  Check it out here.  The inspiration I got was to create a Thanksgiving card using the image called Bobblehead Indian Boy.  I paired the image up with Papertrey cardstock, ribbon, and buttons with twine, and used my copics.  Simple card--but cute!

Riley Challenge

The current Riley challenge (found here)  is to use the color orange--easy for me to do, as it is my favorite color!  I figured most people would do a Halloween card, so I went in an opposite direction.  I used my favorite color combination--hot pink AND orange with Ice Cream Riley.  He was colored with copics, mounted on Papertrey cardstocks along with Papertrey DPs and buttons, nestabilities were used, some bling, and SU ribbon.  Isn't this a "sweet" card?!

Oldie but Goodie

Still trying to get caught up on scrapbooking, so I created another page today.  Since Liz was a tiny little thing, her grandpa always referred to her as "one smart cookie!"  When she was inducted into the Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society during her sophomore year in college, I decided to include this certificate in her scrapbook.  I added the images called Kidz--Cookie as well as Chocolate Chip Cookie, along with some Harry Potter-style letters.  This sure did spruce up this certificate!

Bugaboo New Challenge

New challenge today at Bugaboo is Anything Goes!  I received 500 envelopes from a friend that are sized 6 1/2" X 4 3/4"--so I'm making a new size card.  You may see a lot of cards this size!  I had some Marha Stewart halloween paper which paired up well with the spider web punch (and a little bling!).  I just had to add an image (Halloween Skelekinz--Pumpkin) which I colored with copics.

Oldie but Goodie

If you all know me, you know that I am a cat lover; therefore I LOVE this Bugaboo image called Raggedy Critters--Kitty.  It sure does look cute with this kitty DP!

Critter Sketch Challenge

New challenge today from Critter Sketch Challenge.  The challenge is a recipe challenge:  use two colors, two ribbons (I used two strands of rick rack instread of ribbon), and 2 brads (I used four).  In addition to a new challenge, we also have a new sponsor--and you need to be sure to check out Soft Pencil Images.  Their imags are adorable, as you can see from the Sweet Mermaid image that I used.  I also used nestabilities, swiss dot embossing folder, copics, and a little bling.  Easy Peasy!!!
