Riley Challenge

The Riley challenge for this two week period (as seen on their blog) is to create a card/project using a fun sentiment.  They have a fantastic line of sentiments called Funny Bones, but I decided to use an image with a sentiment that I love!  It is the clear set called Dentist Riley and the sentiment is included in the set (along with some other great ones!)  Play along, and you might win a free Riley stamp.  It's always fun when you're using Riley stamps.

Papertrey Challenge

Capture the Moment has a blog entry every Monday where viewers are shown "how to" something.  This week it was pinwheels.  We were then challenged to make a card/project using pinwheels.  You must use at least one Papertrey product.  Check it out; there's a $25 prize!  I followed the directions and made a pinwheel out of PTI aqua mist polka dot paper backed with some aqua flowered DP I had.  I glued a PTI button into the center, tied up with twine.  This was mounted on Papertrey cardstocks and finished off with a Papertrey sentiment.  Cute and easy way to make a card!

Oldie but Goodie

My Bugaboo Oldie but Goodie card today features an image called Happy Birthday Envelope.  I mounted the image up so that the sentiment could slide out.

Critter Sketch Challenge

On the Critter Sketch blog today, you will find a new challenge and sponsor.  The challenge is to create a card with the main focus being snowflakes (cute idea--but honestly I am sick of snow!  I've already seen too much, and want to start thinking of spring).  The designer is Broken Box Stock and the image I used is Snowball Toddle.  Cute image!  I used several layers on this card, and added a rhinestone snowflake.

Be sure to play along with us!

Friday Freebie

One of my favorite things to do is read--and so I love this freebie image that Jodie (at Bugaboo)  has for us today.  Book Nut--what a cutie!  Luckily I had some book DP and a stamp that said "Stamp Out Illiteracy, Read a Book!"  It all goes so well together!!!  Hope there's more to this release.

Papertrey Challenge

On Nichole's blog today (the last of the anniversary challenges) she introduced her items to create hair accessories for little girls.  Makes me wish Liz were still little!!!!!  Our challenge was to create some type of an accessory using at least one Papertrey product.  I created a pin out of a domino.  I used ink refills to get a little color on the background, and then stamped a Floral Frenzy design in versamark on the front.  I used embossing powder in black and red to highlight this flower.  All I had to do then was glue a pin on the back--and Voila!  It's complete!

If you haven't played along, do so today.  I have so enjoyed these challenges from Papertrey!

Oldie but Goodie

Today is Bugaboo's Oldie but Goodie Day.  I used an image called Button Bear 7.  Be check to check out what the other DT members have created on our blog.

Humor Me Wednesday

At Bugaboo we celebrate anything!  If you go to our challenge blog, we can choose from several ideas.  I decided on "Do a Grouch a Favor Day", and decided to use Bugaboo's favorite grouch--Gus!  He's doing a favor for one of his grouchy friends telling them not to drink and drive, as they might hit a bump and spill their beer:)  I love this image!

Papertrey Challenge

Whew--I wasn't sure I was going to finish this one!  I had a busy day and evening, and it was 9:30 before I got to start on my challenge card.  The challenge for today, as seen on Nichole's blog, was to use some type of watercolor technique.  I decided to use the simple faux watercolor technique that Jessica Witty introduced.  I stamped an image from the Turning a New leaf stamp set.  I then took a watercolor brush and went around the stamping, giving a water color look.  The cardstocks (the base is hibiscus pink, but it photographed to look more like Berry Sorbet.), sentiment, and butterfly die cuts are all from Papertrey.  This was an easy technique to do!  Nichole is releasing a watercolor set this month--and now I HAVE to have it.

New Release

Bugaboo has a new release for you today.  If you're finished with your Valentine cards, you can start on St. Patrick's Day!  I think this image is adorable! It even comes with the sentiment.

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
The challenge is black and white + one other color (mine is green).

PTIColor Challenge

Nichole posted six fantastic color combinations on her blog today.  The PTI Anniversary challenge was to use on of them and create a card or project.  I used color combo # 4 and created a card using one of the previous sketches she provided.  The color combo I chose was one of my favorites--pinks, oranges, and brown.  When looking through my papers, I noted that the Beautiful Beads pink and orange collection included just these colors--so I used it!Everything on this card is from Papertrey--cardstocks, papers, sentiment ribbon, button, except for the SU punch.  Play along--or at least check out these fantastic color combos.  You can get inspiration from them later.

Riley Challenge

I love these Riley challenges.  For this one, you were to create a Valentine without using red or pink.  I used the image called Riley Detective.  In order to make it a suitable Valentine card, I computer generated a sentiment "Looking for Love".  I used Papertrey cardstocks and die, two brads, some bling, and copics along with deisgner paper (which doesn't show up in the picture, but is a map).  Be sure to check this out--and play along.  I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do!

Papertrey Challenge

Today's Papertrey challenge (as found on Nichole's blog) is create a card from one of the five sketches she provides.  Even if you are not going to play along, these are good sketches to keep and reference later.  They are provided on a printable download.  I used the one that was created by Dawn McVay.  I used Papertrey cardstocks, two different pieces of designer paper, images from Rosie Posie, a Papertrey button, and twine.  I love these cards that do not require coloring!

Be sure to check out these challenges that run until February 15.  They are worthwhile (with prizes) and fun!

SSS for Bugaboo

There is a new sketch on the Bugaboo challenge blog.  It's a fun one to play with.  I used Papertrey cardstock, designer papers, and an image called Kidz--Girl Balloon.  The sentiment is from Papertrey.

Papertrey Challenge

If you checked out Nichole's blog today, you would have found the current challenge.  We were to:
Create some type of wrap, tag or gift packaging project that is inspired by a photo you found on Pinterest or another site.  I found a picture on Pinterest that showed a living room, done in whites and aquas.  There was so much texture in the room.  That inspired me to make this tag:

I used a glossy tag from rubber cottage, Papertrey polka dot paper, a doily, a papertrey die for the trim and for the butterflies.  The sentiment is from Papertrey as are the ribbons.  I added a pearl.  These challenges have been so much fun!  Check them out.

Bugaboo Challenge

Bugaboo has a new challenge for you today--Affairs of the Heart.  I love making Valentine cards, as there is nothing else you need to do to celebrate this special day!  I used Papertrey cardstock, designer papers, a Papertrey heart die, some bling, my copics and an image called Boy Roses.

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
The challenge is Valentines or Hearts.

Be sure to check out the challenge on our blog.  There are sosme great prizes--and lots going on at Bugaboo.

Papertrey Challenge 2/8

If you checked out Nichole Heady's blog today, Papertrey Anniversary Challenge was to create a card/project using one of the Year of the Flower stamp sets.  Unfortunately I don't have any:(  Since I had a goal to play along with all of Papertrey's challenges during this celebration, I decided to "make do".  I used the jar stamp set along with the spring flower fillers.  There is not a Year of the Flower set with tulips, but I do love them (along with daffodils).  I feel like both are so symbolic of spring!  All of my cardstock is from Papertrey (I LOVE it!) and the little die cut and image are also from Papertrey.  I colored with copics and added a little twine.  Not exactly what it is supposed to be, but I'm very pleased with the card!

Papertrey Challenge

Another Papertrey Challenge for me!  This one was posted on February 5 (I'm going to attempt to complete them all).  Each of the design members chose six of their favorite designs from 2012.  The challenge then was to create a card/project inspired by one of their designs.  All of the Papertrey designers are always such an inspiration for me--Dawn for her colors, Heather for her use of Kraft paper, Cristina for her simplicity, Betsy for her femininity, and on and on!  However the card that I chose as an inspiration piece was from Maile.  She created a clean and simple card using Gracious Vases.  I used white cardstock, mounted another piece of white cardstock which was wrapped on two sides with Papertrey ribbons (sweet blush and melon berry--such a pretty combination!),  Above I stamped a sentiment and a bird from Happy Trails stamp set.  I embellished the bird's eye with a small rhinestone.  Very simple, but very striking card.

Be sure to check out these challenges at Capture the Moment.  The challenges are fun--and the prizes are awesome!

Papertrey Challenge

If you have not checked out Nichole Heady's blog "Capture The Moment", be sure to go there!  Papertrey Ink is celebrating its 6th anniversary with all types of challenges.  There will be challenges running until February 15, so be sure to check it out!  Today several of the designers released a printable design.  The challenge was to create a card or project using one of the designs.  I used the printable designed by Heather.  I printed it, rounded the corners, mounted it on Papertrey aqua mist cardstock and some designer paper I had.  I rounded the corners on everything and then added a crocheted flower.  A friend made these using embroidery floss that matched the Papertrey colors.  What an easy card!  I will be doing some more of these.

Humor Me Challenge

For Bugaboo today is Humor Me Wednesday.  Check out our challenge blog for the details!  I'm celetrabint "Send a Card to a Friend" Day, and created a card using the image called Bugaboo Brats--Best Friends.  I used Papertrey cardstocks and designer papers, a papertrey die, letters from Taylored Expressions, and my copics.

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
The challenge is G is for Going Dotty.

Saturday Challenge

Bugaboo's challenge today is my favorite one--Anything Goes!  To check out the details and the prizes, head over to our challenge blog.  I created a card (using my favorite color--orange!) using an image called Ruby Fabulous Forty.  I used some Papertrey DP and cardstocks, some bling, added some embossed corners, and colored the image with my shades of orange copics.  I have a birthday coming up for someone who is turning forty; this will be for her!

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
The challenge is Anything Goes with your Favorite Colors (mine obviously are any shades of orange!)
