Oldie but Goodie Day

I LOVE back to school time (because I'm a retired teacher!).  I did hate to see Liz go back, however; summer did seem very short.  My card today celebrates back to school.  I used Papertrey and Bazzill cardstocks, scraps of DP in my stash, Ppaertrey buttons, an SU punch, and this adorable Bugaboo image called Kid Pocket Topper--glasses boy which I colored with Copics.  I added a little Crystal Effects to his glasses.

Bugaboo New Release

At the beginning of August, my family went to a dude ranch in Colorado.  We all loved it--Liz rode, Jim hiked, I did very little:)  Today's image from Jodie at Bugaboo reminds me of this vacation!  Liz loves her boots (but they are not pink!)  However, the ones on this card are.  I used Papertrey cardstocks, paper from a scrapbook store in Estes Park, Colorado (I was able to use the scraps from the scrapbook page I will make for Liz), my new Nestabilities die, a little paper piecing, a pink brad, and a few copics.  I'll be using this image in the scrapbook.  Thanks, Jodie!

This card will be entered into challenges at:
The challenge is Bingo.  I used paper piecing, die cuts, brads.
The challenge is to use pink and brown.

Oldie but Goodie Day

Yay for Oldie but Goodie Day at Bugaboo.  I used one of my favorite characters--Stella.  The image is Ray of Sunshine.  Two of my friends are still teaching, and I'm sure they feel like Stella when I say how I am enjoying the pool--and they are already back in school!  So glad it's them and not me.For my card, I used scraps of yellow DP (for the sunshine!), a Martha Stewart punch, a PTI button, and colored my image with copics.  I also did a little stitching with my Janome sewing machine.

Critter Sketch Challenge

If you check out the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog, you will find that today's challenge is to create acard for a wedding, an anniversary, or even a wedding shower.  Since I have a lot of relative anniversaries coming up, I decided to do an anniversary card.  I used the image called Farmers Riley and Sophie because I thought they were so cute!  I used Papertrey cardstocks, nestabilities dies, MM English Garden DP, Doodlebug Banyard borders, my Janome sewing machine, some bling, and colored my image with copics.  I added an AMuse sentiment that says "what a pair"--and I think it makes a perfect anniversary card.  Of course, it says "Happy Anniversary" inside.

While you areat the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog, check out the design team call.  It's going on now--and it's a great opportunity for you!

Bugaboo Challenge

Whew!  What a challenge for me!  Bugaboo has a new challenge today, as explained in the challenge blog.  Shabby chic + distressed--I'm not even sure that I know what shabby chic is!  It sounds like an oxymoron to me--but I tried.  For my card, I used designer papers from a Taylored Expressions monthly kit, a paper clip from Staples, ribbon, my Janome sewing maching, and colored my image with copics.  Not positive that it is shabby chic--but I think it is cute!

Oldie but Goodie Day

For Oldie but Goodie Day today,  chose an image from Bugaboo called Flower Block Names--Rose.  It was the perfect image to use for this card technique.  I made a twisted easel card--first one for me, but not my last!  I used a scrap of DP, Bazzill cardstocks, unknown ribbon and flower, a Papertrey sentiment, and SU oval punches.  Very pleased with this card technique (found on Splitcoast Stampers).

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
The challenge is to create an easel card.

Another Challenge Card

I just had to play along in the SCS Fetured Stamper challenge because my friend Joy (aka daiseyfreak) is the featurned stamper.  Check it out here.  The card that I chose to work with is this one.  Joy's cards are always so bright, clean, and gorgeous.  Since I am so addicted to designer paper, I did not get that bright and clean feel, but the layout is hers!  I used one of my new Riley stampers (I bought several because Joy and another friend Michele are on that DT--and they both isnpire me so!), some road map DP (both sides), a film strip die cut that I think Joy gave me, SU oval punches, and a smile sentiment.  I colored my Riley image with copics.  I love this card because it reminds me of Joy--and of travel (one of my favorite things to do!)

Riley Challenge

My friends Michele and Joy are both DT members for Riley and Company.  Because their cards inspire me soooo much, I decided to play along with the Riley challenge.  As you can see, you were to create a nautical card (boat, ocean, beach, etc) using the colors red and blue. I used Papertrey cardstocks, DP, nestabilities, an AMuse sentiment, ribon, Riley Fins image, and colored my image with copics.  Sure looks beachy to me!

Play along.  I LOVE to use my Riley images.

Bugaboo New Release

That Jodie (at Bugaboo) has another fantastic release for you today.  It is called AKV Summertime--and I used the water slide iamge.  I found a cute notebook and bookmark at Michael's, and since Liz leaves this coming Friday for college, I thought they would be fun to alter for her.  The sentiment on the bookmark is "go against the flow"--which I thin is perfect for a water slide image, as well as a college student!  Let's hope she does this.  I used water designer paper, Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, some baubles, an SU scalloped punch, computer generated a sentiment, and colored the images with copics.  Now all ready for her to take with her!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has created.

Oldie but Goodie Day

I wish I were having a baby shower (but I don't know anyone having a baby!)  I found a pattern in an older edition of PaperCrafts magazine for these baby cards made like a girl's dress and a boy's overalls.  Wouldn't these make great baby shower invitations?  I also made matching booties which would be cute to use for mints or placecards at the shower.  I'll forget how to do this by the time I need them:)  I used baby paper that I bought at JoAnn's, Papertrey cardstocks and buttons, some lace, and Bugaboo images printed out small enough to use on the pockets.  I colored those with copics.  So, so cute!
