New Release at Bugaboo

I went to the pool yesterday. Know what that means?  Summer is here!  To celebrate, Jodie (at Bugaboo) has another fantastic set of images for us!  The set is titled "fruit flies!"  I used a sweet little fruit fly/watermelon image.  It just looks like summer.  I used unknown DPs, Papertrey cardstocks and buttons, and colored my image with copics. I think this combination of papers looks  lot like watermelon!

This card will be entered into challenges at:
The challenge is "Tooty-Fruity (add fruit!)
The challenge is "Things with Wings"

Crafty Hos Challenge

The challenge for the Crafty Hos today is to use twine!  I created a graduation card (in my high school's colors), and used twine for the graduation tassel.  At our school the graduates do wear royal blue caps and gown, but the "honor" graduates get a gold tassel.  It is for one of Liz's friends who is receiving the Commonwealth Diploma--the highest diploma in the state of Kentucky.  For my card I used Bazzill cardstock, Scrapbook Customs DP--Plaid Left, a Nestabilities die, a Pure Innocence image, a sentiment from Papertrey Ink, Twinery twine, and colored the image with copics.

Be sure to play along with us!

Oldie But Goodie Thursday

I love Thursdays at Bugaboo because we get to feature older images!  For my project today, I used the set--A Little Bit of Oz.  I have always loved the movie "The Wizard of Oz", and I enjoyed making a set of cards featuring these images.  All my images were colored with copics, and I used Papertrey and SU cardstocks, scraps of DP, bits of ribbon, and computer-generated sentiments.  This makes a great gift set for someone!
This set will be entered into a challenge at:
The challenge is "Don't Be Square".  All my cards are rectangular.

Critter Challenge!

The challenge at Critter Sketch Challenge is a great one today--a recipe challenge.  You are to use 3 colors (mine are beige, black, and red), 2 buttons, and 1 ribbon (I used black on the image).  We have a sponsor this month--Wags 'n Whiskers.  Be sure to check them out!  I love the image I used, a great one for little boys.  For my card, I used SU cardstock, Debbie Mumm DP, my deckled nestability, ribbon from JoAnns, Papertrey buttons, and twine from The Twinery.  I added one of my favorite sentiment stamps.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has created--and be sure to play along with us!

ABAC--Bugaboo

I am the chosen person to post anything but a card for Bugaboo today.  As the end of the school year arrives, my ABC is a little gift set for a teacher--a card and a small notebook.  I used a Bugaboo image called JJ Calendar Month--September on both.  My card used green gingham ribbon, some apple DP, and Papertrey cardstock.  The notebook is one from the $1 spot at Michaels.  I added a ribbon, cardstock to the front, plus the colored image.  Very easy to do!  The part I love is the inside of the card.  I used Honeypop to make an apple for the inside (directions on Inky Antics website).  I computer generated a sentiment which says "An Apple for My Teacher".  Easy project to complete!

This project will be entered into challenges at:
The challenge is anything goes.
The challenge is teacher appreciation.

Don't forget that the 50% off sale is still going on!

Check it out--the Crafty Hos have a new challenge for you!  As you can see on the challenge blog, today's challenge is a photo inspiration.  After looking at Lance Armstrong, my inspiration can in the form of this Kraftin' Kimmie Miles stamp.  He, too, is on a bicycle!  For my card, I used Papertrey cardstocks, Papertrey polkadot paper, and an unknown sheet of map DP.  I added a little bling, used a favorite sentiment, and colored my image with copics.  I punched it out with a round nestability.  This is an older sketch from I Love Sketches.

Every Monday the Critter Sketch Challenge gives us a new challenge--and today is no different!  If you head over to the challenge blog, you will see that the challenge is a color combo--yellow and green!  Good for Spring, and I can tell that with all of the rain we have had, there is a lot of green around here!  Although there is a wonderful sponsor this month (Wags 'n Whiskers, I used Papertrey images for my card. I had just received them, and couldn't wait to get them on my card!  The cardstock is also Papertrey.  The DP is a scrap I found, and the stamps are Grunge Me and You Rock.  I added a little bling to the guitar.  What an easy, simple, quick card to create!

Crafty Hos Challenge

Sunday = a new challenge for the Crafty Hos.  Check it out!  The theme for this challenge is strong, influential women--and since I am a retired high school teacher, I choose to think that teachers are strong, influential women (or at least I certainly hope the we are!)  For my card, I used Papertrey cardstock, some school-themed DP, plus some journalizing stickers that I found in my stack.  I colored my image with copics, added a little bling, and left it at that!  I love the apple earrings!  This is a great image to use for those thank you notes to your child's teacher.  I always so enjoyed receiving those, although mine were usually written by the student (even better!)
