The Crafty Hos Challenge

Today's challenge was a really hard one for me.  If you head over to The Crafty Hos challenge blog, you'll find that the challenge today is to create a card or project WITHOUT using designer paper.  I almost never do that!  I really had to give this some thought, but then I ended up loving the card I made.  I used Georgia Pacific and Papertrey cardstock, alternating layers between white and cream.  I used four different cuttlebug folder, smudging a little ink around the edges of each.  I used a Bugaboo image from the Scarlette line, colored it with copics, added a little Twinery twine, used embellie jellie and Taylored Expressions twinkies--making this what I think is a very snazzy card!  It will certainly go to some birthday lady!!

Oh, think of the money I could have saved if I would have never used  (or bought!) designer paper.

This card will be entered into challenges at:
Challenge was to Bling It Up!
The challenge was to use a Romantic Style (whites, feminine, tiny patterns)
Challenge was to Emboss It!

Freebie Friday!

Ah, I love the new release today!  Jodie, at Bugaboo, has created some more fantastic Ava and Deacon images for us!  For my card today, I used a Deacon image, sitting in a swing.  I made a square card, used SU and Papertrey cardstock, some DP from a Taylored Expressions monthly kit, beautiful linen ribbon from Michele (Bugaboo DT--check it out on her blog!), colored my image with copics, stamped an AMuse sentiment that I thought was perfect with this image, and added a little bling.  I can't wait to check out the rest of these images!

This card will be entered into challenges at:
Challenge was to create a card for a child.
Challenge was to use a digi and a rubber stamp together.

Jodie makes every effort to have images in the shop by noon EST.  If you go and they are not yet there, just spend the time checking out what the rest of the DT has created.

New Release for Bugaboo

Ah, I LOVE Stella and Gus (from Bugaboo)--and surprise!  Jodie has more images to release today!  I love this one that I used!  It has Stella and Gus in bed, with Stella saying "sometimes I wake up grumpy...other times I let him sleep!"  I know what she means.  Jim can be a little grumpy in the mornings also!  For my card, I used Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, a scrap of DP I found in my stash, colored my image with copics, and punched the sentiment out with a SU small tag punch.  Cute, huh?  You've got to love these images!

Jodie makes every effort to have the images in the store by noon EST.  If you go and they are not there, just go back.  Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has created.

Critter Sketch Challenge!

Go over to the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog, and check out the details!  It's an easy challenge today, as you are to do some distressing plus use a circle.  For my card, I ran some solid burgunday paper through my swiss dots cuttlebug folder, and then rubbed sand paper over it.  I know it looks like polka dot paper, but it really is distressed.  I used a matching DP with circles on it (unfortunately both pieces were precut and I don't know the maker).  I added some white satin ribbon, SU cardstock run cut with my circles nestabilities die, and colored my Bugaboo image with copics.  I belong to a swap where we have six members.  Each month a different person sends out paper and embellishments.  Each member chooses their own image and makes six cards--sending one to each member.   This was the kit I received for the month of January.

Bugaboo Challenge

It's Saturday--and another new challenge for you from Bugaboo!  Head over to the challenge blog and check it out!  It's been a busy week, with all of these challenge--but certainly a fun one:)  For today's challenge, all you need to do is make a "Winter White" card/project.  This is somelthing that I really like doing, but don't do often enough.  For my card, I used Papertrey cream cardstock.  I embossed white cardstock with my snowflake embossing folder, and used the bobblehead snowman image, mounted on cream circle nestabilities.  I love the alternating of the white and cream!  I used some pleated cream ribbon that I ordered from Michele (see links in my sidebar--she's a DT member), added some white felt Papertrey die cut snowflakes, and accented them with pearls.  I colored my card with copics.

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
The challenge is to use ribbon and pearls.

Oldie but Goodie Day at Bugaboo!

Here it is again--oldie but goodie day!  I love looking through all of the wonderful Bugaboo images before trying to figure out which one to use.  Today I chose a Cupie Baby image--new year, new baby--make sense?  For my card I used Papertrey cardstock and DP, another unknown DP, Martha Stewart ribbon, colored my image with copics, and added a cute little metal "rubber" ducky.  The ducky was not the correct color, so I changed it with a copic marker.  I highlighted a few of the bubbles with a Sakura glitter pen.  The sketch that I followed was an older Cindy Haffner sketch.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has created--and rest up for next week!  We have a busy time planned for you:)

Crafty Hos Chalenge

It's Sunday, so that means another challenge for the Crafty Hos!  Head over to the Crafty Hos blog, check it out, and play along.  All you have to do is create a monochromatic card.  I chose to use a Bugaboo Stella image, shades of aqua/turquoise with white, some beautiful flocked paper I had from last year (makes unknown!), SU and Papertrey cardstock, colored with copics and accented with a Sakhura glitter pen, and added tiny pearls as an embellishment.  Although I hate snow and cold, I like how this card turned out!

Bugaboo's challenge for you today is to "Emboss It"!  Quite an easy one to do, so be sure to check out the challenge blog, and play along.  For my card, I used this cute little sewing bear card with the sentiment "thanks sew much!'  Who doesn't need thank you cards at this time of year?  I used Papertrey and SU cardstock, unknown polka dot DP, my swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder, Papertrey ribbon and button and jute, colored my image with copics, added a little Sakhura glitter pin, and computer-generated a sentiment which I punched out with an SU punch.

Friday Freebie Day at Bugaboo

I'm back!  Did you even know I was gone?  It's hard to tell with autopost!  Jim, Liz, and I left on December 18 and returned this past Wednesday, traveling to Australia/New Zealand!  Wonderful trip--so nice to experience summer again, even for a short while!

Jodie has such a cute image for you today.  It should be in the Bugaboo shop  no later than 2:00 pm EST.  There will be a whole line of these adorable birds!  I love this image because it makes a cute card for any age, any gender.  I used October Afternoon paper left from last year, Papertrey ribbon, rectangle nestability die, colored my image with copics, chalked around the image while the die was still on, and added a little bling to the hat.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has created.

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
The challenge is to use an old favorite (mine was the paper and ribbon) and something brand new (mine was the image).

Oldie but Goodie Day at Bugaboo!

I'm in a monthly swap at Splitcoast.  There are six of us in a group, with a hostess each month.  The hostess sends us paper and embellishments (in this case the ribbon) and we make choose what image we wish to use with what we receive.  This card was my January product for one of the groups.  As soon as I saw this gorgeous s'amores paper, I knew I wanted to use one of Bugaboo's "chocolate" images.  Perfect, huh?  I used Papertrey cardstock, buttons, and twine, and added a piece of bling as an earring.  The image was colored with copics.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has created.

Anything But a Card for Bugaboo!

Jenny and I are both sharing ABACs with you today.  I'm going to share a card box with you--I made a couple of these to use as small Christmas presents.  Each will hold about 10 cards with envelopes, so it is quite a nice little gift.  I followed the tutorial on Splitcoast, plus made a matching card.  I used Papertrey cardstock, unknown DP, my scalloped punch, colored this Bugaboo snowman with copics, added a green felt snowflake made with my Papertrey die, and added a piece of bling to it.  Why is it that I love snowmen, but hate snow!

The green tag really does match the base of the box; it sure looks yellow in the picture!  Be sure to look at Jenny's project.  I know it will be great:)

Crafty Hos Challenge

Check out the new challenge at the Crafty Hos.  New Year = new baby, so make a baby card.  How hard can that be?  For my card, I used paper from a Value Pack from JoAnn's, Papertrey cardstock, Papertrey ribbon, and a sweet little bunny image from a Papertrey stamp set.  I paper pieced the bunny and added a little liquid applique to his tail.  He was then mounted on nestabilities circle die.

Happy New Year!

Can you believe that it is 2011?  Where does the time go?  Head over to the Bugaboo Challenge blog and check out this challenge.  You really don't need to read the rules carefully (but do look over the creations by the rest of the DT) because "Anything Goes!"  Easy way to play along today!  For my card, I used two pieces of coordinating DP (sorry about no name!), Papertrey cardstock, pearls and bling, SU punches, and Papertrey ribbon.  I colored my image with copics.  Love this Stella image, as it is so much fun to color.--and the sentiment that comes along with it is hilarious!
