The Crafty Hos Challenge
Another weekly challenge from The Crafty Hos. Be sure to go over to the challenge blog and check out all of the details. For this challenge, you are to use one leaf, buttons, and a circle. I found a scrap of some beautiful leaf paper (name unknown!) that was perfect to use with this Stampin' Up leaf stamp. I embossed the image on bronze metallic paper, mounted it on a scalloped circle nestability die, added some Papertrey ribbon and buttons--and voila! I met the challenge.

Oldie but Goodie Day at Bugaboo!
Another Thursday--the day to go through the "not just released" images at Bugaboo. When Jodie released these Har Repotter images, I was so thrilled! Liz and several of her friends were big fans, so I knew she would want some sets of cards to give out as birthday presents. This card with the main image is the one I want to share with you today. For my card, I used a scrap of designer paper that I had, Papertrey cardstock, and some beautiful sparkly ribbon that I got from my friend Michele! She's on the Bugaboo design team; check out her blog and you can see her beautiful ribbon! I computer generated the sentiment. Isn't he cute?!

New Bugaboo Challenge!
Saturday = New Challenge at Bugaboo! Today, at Bugaboo, we are recognizing "causes". Be sure to stop by our challenge blog and find out all of the details. Cammy, one of our design team members, is currently in the midst of a fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes. Great cause! Be sure to stop by her blog--and help her out! I'm very supportive of Juvenile Diabilites, as I have a daughter and a granddaughter with it. I am also supportive of heart disease because my father died from it--and my husband had heart surgery last year. There are many wonderful causes out there. However, the cause that I chose was pancreatic cancer. Here's why:
I am an only child. Both of my parents doted on me! My father thought I was perfect; my mother knew I was not (probably because I was so much like her!) It didn't matter though, as she still wanted the very best of everything for me. My mother (whose 95th birthday would have been tomorrow) never worked outside of our home. Her goal in life was to see that my father and I were well taken care of--and she succeeded! She cooked (wonderful food!--big breakfast every morning with daily fresh squeezed orange juice), she baked (breads, cookies, pies, cakes--dessert every evening), she cleaned (I was always able to bring friends back to our house--she loved having us!), she sewed (most of my clothes, all of my Halloween costumes) and made crafts (I still have some of her handmade Christmas ornaments). She was a room mother, a Vacation Bible School worker, a Brownie leader, a great supporter and cook at our church. She made our house be what a home should be! We did not have much money, but I surely did have a rich life. My father died at age 58, and my mother survived widowhood very well. She kept busy! She continued to cook large meals, even though it was just her and the dog. We benefitted, however, as she would send meals to us a couple of times a week (entire meals--meat, potatoes, vegetables, dessert!) She volunteered at my children's school and was very busy in our church. She truly was a homebody, and did not want to venture far from it. However, she did LOVE short trips to Las Vegas. She and I went once each year. In August of 1994, the day after we returned, she had an appointment for a regular doctor's visit. Her only symptom was a small weight loss (she was thrilled--as she had dieted most of her adult life!) The doctor wanted blood work done, and two day's later, we were confronted with a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Everything that could be done was done. The cancer began silently, the cancer became painful, the cancer progressed quickly, the cancer was deadly. Less than six weeks after the diagnosis was made, my beloved mother died. Cancer is always devastating, but this type is particularly so. I pray that a cure can be found.
Now--for my card. I used Papertrey cardstock, a Sissix ribbon punch, circle nestabilities, SU's oval punches, Bugaboo's new bunny "cause" image, and unknown paper from my stash. I added a couple pieces of purple bling.

Oldie but Goodie Day at Bugaboo!
It's a good day to revisit those Bugaboo images--and find some new ones that you want! I am so amazed by the talent that Jodie has. Can you imagine continuing to produce such beautiful images--week after week? I chose one of her sunbonnet images to use today. What a sweet image! I thought this paper (from Taylored Expressions monthly kits) was just perfect to use with it, along with the ticket image from Bizzy Becs. I used a nestability die, colored my image with copics, mounted on Papertrey cardstock, and added some Papertrey bow. Sure does look sweet!

New Release Day at Bugaboo Stamps
Yes--it's new release day--and there are TWO different lines being released. I am so thrilled because I LOVE both of these lines. The first I will share with you is Gus, that cute old man! The image I am using is Gus on a kid's toy with a sentiment "Growing old is mandatory...Growing up is optional!" How cute is that? For my card I used SU cardstock, scraps of dfesigner paper I had. a green gingham scalloped border, and colored my image with copics. I added a couple pieces of red bling to Gus's "vehicle!" I'm sure I can find some old "kid" to send this to!
The next new line is Halloween brats. They come with accessories so that you can manipulate them, combine them, and come up with kinds of new images. I'm using two of the brats, sitting on a bench. Hats off to Tammy for helping me do this!!!!! For this card, I used Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, designer paper from Taylored Expressions monthly kit, a large scallop punch, a glitter pumpkin embellishment, and colored my image with copics. I LOVE these images!!

Bugaboo Challenge
I'm loving these weekly Bugaboo Challenges!!!!! For today, you are to create something sweet. Check it out on the challenge blog. All the details will be there. I'm not sure it's celebrated all over, but in our area, we celebrate Sweetest Day (today--the third Saturday of October!). I say we celebrate it, but honestly, my husband doesn't. He claims it is a holiday created by Hallmark, candy makers, and florists. We did get some candy for Liz, however--our little sweetie:) For my card, I used a Bugaboo image from the Monkey Love line. Jodie has a lot of "sweet" images. I'm sure you can find something appropriate! My card has designer paper from October Afternoon, Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, copics for coloring, and stickles to accent the bow and rose. Sure wish my husband would go shop! However, we are going to a college football game, and will get to see Liz in the band. That's sweet enough for me.
Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has created--and then try and find a little time to play along with us. It will be a sweet time for you:)

Oldie but Goodie Day at Bugaboo!
Don't these weeks go by quickly! It's already Thursday--so that means oldie but goodie day. The images that I am using today are not that old, but they are certainly good! I went to Bath and Body Works and bought the $1 bottles of handsitizer with Halloween names like Vampire Blood, Candy Corn, Twilight, Spirder Web, etc. (thanks to my friend Joy for telling me about these!). I used images from Jodie's Halloween Bobblehead lines and other Bugaboo Halloween images. I printed on white cardstock, colored with copics, punched a hole in the top and placed cardstock over cap, and tied it up with ribbon. Cute, huh? Liz thought so!
These will be entered into a challenge at:

The Crafty Hos
New challenge day for the Crafty Hos. Be sure to check it out! You are to make a card using this color combo--red, green, and brown. It sounded so hard to me until I thought of a Riley Christmas card! I love that little moose. I'll color him brown--and use red and green paper. See, it's not so hard after all! For my card I used the image of Riley carrying a Christmas tree. I placed this image on Papertrey red cardstock, used SU Wild Wasabi for the card base, used SU oval punches, added some PTI ribbon and button, and colored my card with copics. Play along with us.
