Crafty Hos Challenge!
The Crafty Hos have an inspiration challenge for you today. Go over to http://craftyhoschallenge.blogspot.com/ and take a look at the inspiration piece. Then check out the samples made by the design team--and then play along with us! For my card, I used Papertrey cardstock (no DP this time!). I embossed with my seashell embossing folder (one that I bought at Big Lots for $2.00--what a deal!), chalked on top of the embossing, chalked in my image, added a scrap of ibbon I found, and added aqua pearls to the polka dots. I like the way this card turned out--elegant, and very different from my usual style:)

Love Is In the Air!!!!!
Love is in the Air! You should be arriving here from Melissa's blog (see the sidebar for a link). If you didn't, head over to http://www.catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ and start at the beginning. Look at what the Bugaboo Design Team has created for you, and checkout all of the details. Your card must show something about love (that's easy enough, isn't it!) For my card, I used an image from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called Gus and Stella--Marriage Curable. This is one of my favorite images! I used some DP from my Taylored Expressions monthly kit, cardstock and ribbon from Papertrey, and added two yellow pieces of bling to Stella's bouquet. I colored my image with copics. Now that you have checked out my card, please leave me a comment--and then go on to Alison's blog (again, see the sidebar for a link). Be sure to play along with us. Stop by http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ and figure out what images you could use for this card (of course, you don't have to use one of our images; it just increases your chances of winning if you do!)
This card will be entered into a challenge at http://www.alyssundaychallenge.blogspot.com/. The challenge is ASC20--Flower Power.

Thursday = Bugaboo Oldie but Goodie Day
I love Thursdays--because I love going through my images and making a card with one of them. Today I chose one of Bugaboo's images (http://www.bugaboostamps.com/) called Bugaboo Brats School--Apple Girl. It is one of the newer images, but I was still so excited to use it! I guess because I am a retired teacher, I'm just drawn to the school-related cards. I used scraps of paper from my stack--primary color stripes (perfect for school cards) and a strip of ruler paper. I mounted the ruler paper on Papertrey cardstock, as well as using it for the card base. I used some school embellishments that I bought at Tuesday Mornings, and colored my image with copics--and cut it out. I love this card!
This card will be entered into a challenge at http://cowgirlssundaystampenchallenge.blogspot.com/. The challenge is "anything goes". Be sure to visit the rest of the design team and see what they have done.

Bugaboo--New Release
That's right! Since it is Tuesday, it is new release day--and does Jodie (http://www.bugaboostamps.com/) ever have a great new line for us! Poppi the Penguin is very cute, and I can't wait to see the rest of the line. I used the image that shows Poppi flipping balls of ice cream. What a "cool" image! For my card, I used October Afternoon Fly a Kite paper (from my Taylored Expressions kit!), Papertrey cardstock, ribbon that also came from Taylored Expressions, circle nestabilities, chalked around the image that I colored with copics, used sakhura glitter pen on the ice cream, an AMuse sentiment, and added one piece of bling to the sentiment.
This card will be entered into a challenge at http://daisydoodlescreativechallenges.blogspot.com/. The challenge is Summertime.
Jodie always has images up in the shop by 2:00 p.m. EST, so if you head over there and they are not up, they will be! Also, be sure to check with the site at http://www.catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ and see what the rest of the design team created.

AIFactory Challenge
Remember that green giraffe card I posted a couple of weeks ago? It won the AIFactory Challenge! Because of that, I was asked to be a guest designer for this week's challenge. Be sure that you head over to http://aifactorychallenges.blogspot.com/ and check out all of the details. Then, play along! I can vouch for the fact that it is fun:) This week's challenge ( # 40) is to use distressing on your project. It is NOT a requirement to use AIFactory images, but if you wish to, go to the freebie section at http://www.aivault.com/store/category/freebies.html and pick up some freebies! The deadline for entry is 10:30 p.m. EST next Wednesday. If you upload your creation to an online gallery, please use AIF040 as the keyword. Now--for my card:
I used one of the new Father's Day images, colored it with copics, paper pieced the ties with scraps of DP I had and used the houndstooth cuttlebug folder (found this for $2.00 at Big Lots!). I distressed the embossed folder with sandpaper and rubbed SU Bashful Blue ink on it. I used Papertrey cardstock and buttons, rectangle nestabilities, and added a Papertrey Round and Round sentiment to one of the ties. I also sanded around the scalloped image and added Bashful Blue ink there also. I like the way this turned out--it makes a great masculine card!
AIFactory--thanks for giving me this opportunity to be a guest designer.

Bugaboo Challenge
Bugaboo (http://www.bugaboostamps.com/) has a new challenge for you! Head over to http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/, check out all the details, look at all of the creations from the design team--and then play along with us! We are celebrating the start of the World Cup! Your creation needs to feature the team colors of the team you want to win the World Cup, or colors of your national team, or colors of your favorite sports team. I'm not a big soccer fan, but of all the places that I have ever visited, Italy is my hands-down favorite--so I decided to feature the colors of Italy--red, green, and white! Several years ago, I was in Milan, Italy, when World Cup games were being played there. It was neat to see groups in all of the different national colors. The fans were fantastic, so I think I could learn to like soccer.
My card uses some DP, border, and a die cut that I had left over from a scrapbook page I made from our trip. (If you saw my DP, you would understand why I can never identify the manufacturer of the papers I use--I save large scraps!) I used Papertrey cardstock, colored my BB soccer boy image with copics, and added crystal effects to the soccer ball. VIVA ITALIA!
This card will be entered into a challenge at http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/. The challenge is called "Child's Play".

I did some crystal effects to his sunglasses and leather jacket. I love it, and I can't wait to see the rest of this line! Be sure to stop by http://www.catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ and see what the rest of the design team has created. Jodie should have the images up in the shop no later than 2:00 p.m. EST. There are a couple of other new lines also. Check them out! I can't wait to:)

Sew Many Cards
Be sure to head over to http://www.sewmanychallenges.com/ and check out the new challenge there. It is to create anything but a card with a Christmas theme. I used an image called Bear in Stocking, and colored it with copics to match a mini notebook that I bought at Michaels. I added Papertrey ribbon to the pen and pink bling to the cuff of the stocking. Easy--peasy, but so nice to have. I'm very forgetful, so one of these mini notebooks is great to keep my "to do" list in. Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created. They do some fantastic work! Play along with us.

Bugaboo Monday--Anything but a Card
Sorry my post is so late today; I've have problems with Blogger and could not log on! Seems to be working now! As you know, Liz graduated this weekend. Because of that, we will be giving lots of cards and gifts! I decided to make something cute for these kids as they go off to college. We had a coffee house open up close to our high school--and the kids quickly developed a love for coffee treats! It became a meeting place for them. I made mini suitcases (from a pattern from Suzanne J. Dean--so easy to follow!) and put gift cards to the coffee shop inside. Liz's friends will love them--and Liz may even get to meet them there. I decorated the mini suitcases in the colors of the college that they plan on attending. For this one, I used SU and Papertrey cardstock, scrapbook letters, a SU round punch, and two pieces of black bling. Be sure to google Suzanne J. Dean--and check out her tutorials. They are wonderful! Inside the suitcase is a giftcard with an image from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called Ruby--coffee. For my giftcard, I used DP from my stash, Papertrey cardstock, ribbon from Michaels, a Fiskars border punch, scalloped nestabilities, miscellaneous stamps and sentiments from Our Craft Lounge, and colored my image with copics. For the gift card, I used a tutorial from SU resource section.

Crafty Hos Challenge!
It's over--our Liz graduated yesterday. Such a big day for us; Jim (my husband) was in the hospital until Friday with a possible heart attack--but was a false alarm! We were so worried that he would not be out of the hospital, but all worked out fine! Liz graduated, and I got to present her with her diploma. In celebration, my card today is a trifold shutter graduation card. For my card, I used scraps of paper from my stash, Papertrey cardstock, a Great Impressions sentiment stamp, stars cut out with my cricut, and one small piece of bling on the tassel. The image is Olliver the Scholar from http://sewmanychallenges.com/. The card is shown open and closed. Congrats Liz!
This card will be entered into a challenge at:
1. http://alotarubberstamps.blogspot.com/. The challenge is "lots of folds".
Go over to The Crafty Hos Challenge Blog and play along. This week, anything goes!

Friday means a free image at http://bugaboostamps.com/. The image today is called Birthday Turtle--and it sure does make a cute card! I used Papertrey cardstock, SEI DP, wide orange ribbon from my stash, and colored my image with copics. The sentiment is from Hero Arts, and I stamped the balloons twice so that I could pop them up.
I can't wait to check out the rest of this line! Jodie usually has the images in the shop by no later than 2:00 p.m. EST. Be sure to go to http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ and see what the rest of the design team created!
Sew Many Challenges
Sew Many Challenges has a new challenge for you! Go over and check out all of the details at http://sewmanychallenges.com/ You need to make a Father's Day card without using the color blue--not an easy task! I didn't realize how I associate blue with men's cards. For my card, I used an image called Morty Fishing. I used Papertrey cardstock, ribbon, and button, a sentiment from Stamping Bella, and colored my image with copics. Unfortunately, my DP was a scrap without a name on it.

Oldie But Goodie Day!
Boy! This week is flying by! Thursday already, so it is Oldie but Goodie Thursday--a time for Bugaboo (http://www.bugaboostamps.com/) DT members to share cards/projects made with older images. I chose one called Wee One Cowboy--Relaxin'--and what a cute little boy image! For my card, I used Papertrey cardstock, DP from my stash, and Papertrey buttons. Pretty simple card, but then I tend to make them that way for all males!
