Non Traditional Valentine Colors Challenge!

I will be entering this card in the following challenge:
For this challenge, you have to use a digital image with hearts to make a Valentine.

Yes, that's right!  Our challenge for you is to make a Valentine card without using red or pink!!!!!  That limits it a little, doesn't it.  Make your card, and then head over to http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ and enter our challenge.  You could win some great prizes.  Here is the card that I made for this challenge.  I used my favorite color (orange) along with yellow.  The image that I used is Monkey Love with Rose--perfect for a valentine card!  You guessed it--the DP is some that I had in my stash (you should see my stash--it is taking over my stamping room).  I used Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, punched out hearts to add to the corners of the image, and added orange stickles to monkey's bow and rose.  Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team to see their cards.  Be sure to play along with us!

Challenge Card # 3

The second card was made with Marshmallow Snowman with Birdhouse image from Bugaboo Digital Stamps.  Jodie has a whole line of these marshmallow snowmen at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/, and one is cuter than the next!  Although I am sick of cold and snow--I'm not sick of snowmen.  On this card, I used paper that I bought several years ago at Big Lots (so I know it is quite old!)  I used Papertrey cardstock, colored with copics, added a papertrey button, plus a snowflake embellishment that I brought home from CHA.  I also added a little Martha Stewart glitter to the snow at the bottom of the snowman.    I'm entering this in a challenge at http://raisethebarchallenge.blogspot.com/.  The challenge is to use old paper.  I know I did!

Challenge Card # 2

I've been busy working on cards with Bugaboo digital images!  I love these images!  I will have several challenge cards to show you today.  First is a card that I made using a Skelekinz Love image!  Isn't she cute?  I used some scraps of DP that I had, along with Papertrey buttons and cardstock.  The ribbon is a great value roll from JoAnn's (lots of ribbon for little money).  This challenge was to use red and hearts.  The challenge is at http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/  Check it out!

Challenge # 1

Whoops--I almost forgot this.  My card from today with the spring bird (I'll post it again at the end) is to be entered into a challenge at Artful Inkables.  For this challenge, you have to "Think Spring".  As I said earlier, this birdie sure makes me think spring.  The challenge is at http://artfulinkables.blogspot.com/

Freebie Friday!

Yes--it's here again!  Freebie Friday at Bugaboo stamps.  When you finish here, be sure to stop at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ to see the TWO (that's right--TWO!) new digital stamps that Jodie has for us!  I decided to use the birdie that reminds me of spring.  After spending a long weekend in sunny California--I'm looking so forward to spring.  For this card, I made a 4" square card with pink, blue, and green striped paper (very springy looking!).  The image was colored with copics, pearls were added to the center of the flowers, green ribbon was tied around the card, and a felt butterfly that I brought home from CHA was added.  Sure does look like Spring to me!

Check in tomorrow for our challenge!

Oldy but Goody Day

Today is Thursday--Oldy but Goody Day at Bugaboo Stamps.  Be sure you go to the website http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ and check out the stamps that are available.  This is a fairly new company--so the stamps are not really old, but they are good!  You can also go to this blog http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ and check out some oldy but goody cards that were made by the design team.  Now for my card!

For this card, I used the Bugaboo digital stamp called Ruby--February (perfect for Valentine's Day!).  The cardstock and designer paper are from Papertrey Ink, as well as the ribbon.  Ruby was colored with copics, a large metal heart brad and pearl earrings were added, as well as diamond glaze on Ruby's glasses.  I paper pieced the strip on the large Valentine, and sponged color around the edges of the image.  I think she turned out pretty cute!

In fact, I think she is so cute that I am going to enter her into the following challenges!

http://fabnfunkychallenges.blogspot.com/   For this challenge, all you have to do is use a digital image.

http://bellichallenge.blogspot.com/   This is for challenge CBC83 which required you to use hearts on your card.

Thanks for visiting today!  Hope to see you tomorrow for the Friday freebie day at Bugaboo!!!!!

Even More Challenges!

My second card for the day!  For this card, the cutie image that I used was a free image that Jodie gave for having 100 on the http://www.bugaboostamps.blogspot.com/ site.  If you haven't already, head over there, sign up, and snag this image.  It's one you can use often!  The name of this is LuLu, which endears it to me even more.  Our17 year old, Liz, called herself Lizzie LuLu when she was little.  I colored this card with copics, used Papertrey cardstock, and SEI designer paper (I think that is the first time that I did not say it was paper from my stash:))  I used a regular sized/shaped card, but trimmed off 1" from the right side to showcase both sides of the double-sided paper, and matted the image on cardstock cut out with scalloped scissors.  Two small rhinestones were added to the hairbows.  Hope you like this!

This card was entered in the following challenges:

Challenge # 28--Pink and Hearts at http://www.inkyimpressionschallenges.blogspot.com/

Belli Challenge #CBC83--Pink Color Scheme at http://www.bellichallenge.blogspot.com/

Crazy4challenges--C4C21--Pink at http://www.crazy4challenges.blogspot.com/

Challenge # 22--Favourite Colour Combo (Pink and Brown) at http://bee-crafty.blogspot.com/2010/01/challenge-22-favourite-colour-combo.html

CHA and Challenges!

Thought I should tell you all a little about my trip to CHA.  I flew to Anaheim, and met up with some of my Splitcoast friends--Daiseyfreak, Yoorah, LJ, Babitoons, Mrs. S, and Bugaboo's DT member--Rae Anne.  What a wonderful time we had--shopping, doing make-n-takes, socializing, going out for dinner, meeting other SCS people, and even visiting Disneyland.  I should confess that my luggage was considerably heavier coming home than it was going.  If you ever get the chance--go!  It was great fun.

Now, on to challenges.  Today I made a really cute easel card.  Our DT coordinator (Tammy) introduced me to easel cards.  I thought they were cute!  At CHA, I made one as a make-n-take, and I liked them even more.  Today, when I made this one, I can now say that I love them!  Cute, easy, and fun to do--what more can you ask for!  I especially like these easel cards because they will fold flat for mailing, or sit upright for showing.  The puppy in a basket image that I used is one of the free stamps offered this week (through 1/29) by http://www.bugaboostamps.com/.  I used Papertrey cardstock, button, and designer paper, colored with copics, added heart-shaped red rhinestones and red rick rack from my stash.  I used an EK Success scallop punch, and computer generated a sentiment (puppy love) that I punched with a SU punch.  After the posting of this card, I will show you the challenges that I am entering this card in:

Challenge Day 332--The 3 R's--red, rhinestone, rick rack at http://365cards.blogspot.com/

Challenge # 83--Hearts (CBC83) at http://www.bellichallenge.blogspot.com/

Challenge 88 --Freestyle at http://aspoonfullofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com/

Be sure to check out http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ and easel cards.  I think you will like them both!

New Release!

Tuesdays are new release day at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/.  Today Jodie is releasing some great new stamps.  Be sure to check them out! There are two new lines--Puppy Love and A Kid's View--in Love.  The card that I created is from A Kid's View, and is called Bike Ride.  I made a tent card, used Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, a sentiment from a Unity set that I won at CHA (more later about my trip!), and some small heart rhinestone embellishments that I had on hand.  I think the sentiment goes so well with this image.  It says "wherever you go, go with all your heart!"  Enjoy.

Sorry I'm MIA!

I promise to return on Tuesday, Jan. 26 with lots of information about the fun I had at CHA with some of my SCS friends!  Talk to you then.

Happy Laughing Day!

Since today is Happy Laughing Day, I thought I should make a funny project for you.  I made a check book/date book cover using a Bugaboo digi stamp called "Overdrawn".  Along with the image, you get a sentiment that says "What do you mean I'm overdrawn?  I still have checks left!"  This image is particularly funny for me because I am a retired business teacher.  I taught accounting to high school students--and a few times had parents tell met that their college freshmen called home hysterical--and used this very comment!  Too funny!  I used a $1.00 date book from Michaels and was able to slip my checkbook in there so they were together.  I used DP from my stash, and colored the image with copics.  Love this project!

Friday Freebie Day!

This is one of my favorite days at Bugaboo Digital stamps.  Jodie always gives a free stamp on Fridays--and today she is giving two!  When you finish here, be sure to go over to http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ and check them out.  I feel sure you will want both of them!  I chose to use the "nice nurse" image with sentiment included.  I will use this card as a get well card, and it is just the kind that I like.  I want a get well card that will cheer the person up, and make them feel better.  This should!  I used designer paper from my stash, Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, colored with copics, and used diamond glaze on the file cabinet, shelf, and her glasses.  I love the sentiment!  It says "I'm sorry...the nice nurse is on vacation."  I didn't show you the inside--but it says "Get well soon."  That sentiment is from an old SU set.

Oldy but Goody Day

Thursdays are always "Oldy by Goody Day" at Bugaboo stamps, so I thought I would share one of my Chef Pierre cards with you.  There is a whole line of these stamps, but I particularly love this one with the wine.  After you check out this card, go on over to http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ and check out the others.  They are great images to use!  For this card, I used Papertrey cardstocks, some DP from my stash (of course!), colored with copics, and used small pearls to embellish the chef's hat.

A Monthly Card to Share

I don't have much time to create today--as I have so many things to get finished before I leave for CHA tomorrow morning!  Thought I would share a card that I made yesterday for one of my monthly swaps.  I'm the hostess for February, and I will be sending these MFT bunny images and the large polka paper.  Can't wait to see what the other ladies create!  I won't be on much for the next few days, but may still be able to share a few cards with you.

Some Challenge Cards

Since I will be leaving Thursday for CHA--and won't have much free time, I thought I would share some challenge cards with you!  I have been busy using these digital stamps from Bugaboo Stamps.  Go to http://bugaboostamps.com/home.html and check them out.  Every time I go, I find stamps that I have never seen before!  Jodi has a wonderful variety of stamps.

My first card is made using my new image "cupcakechocchipgirl".  I also used a sentiment stamp from AMuse.  I used the swirls cuttlebug folder, a brand new roll of ribbon that I had on hand, some DP from my stash, and Papertry cardstock.  I colored the image with copic markers.  I used stickles on the icing.  I think she turned out cute--and makes a very cute Valentine card!

This card will be entered in several challenges:

This challenge was the "debut" challenge.  You were to use something new--and I used a new (to me) image, a new AMuse sentiment, and new ribbon.

January's challenge is to make a Valentine card.  With this "love" sentiment, I think choccupcakegirl makes a great Valentine!

This last challenge for the cupcake image is to use 3 different textures on the card.  I used an embossing folder, grosgrain ribbon, a turtured flower with a rhinestone, and stickles.

This card that I showed you earlier for the new release is from Jodi's new Mildred line.  It is called grandma off the streets!  I will be submitting it for the challenge at:

For this challenge,a button or buttons were to be used.

My last card is made with the image--Ruby Tequila.  I am using this card for a SCS swap, hosted by design team member Michele (Delfinaus).  For this part of the swap, you had to use a digital stamp and a fancy fold.  I used my Ruby Tequila image on a criss cross card.  They are so much fun to make!  I used Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, some DP from my stash (I never know about my DP because I hoard small pieces!), and small pearl embellishments.  I colored this card with copics.

This card will be entered into the challenge at:

This challenge was to create a card for a girls' night out!  Since the sentiment on the inside of the Ruby card says "one tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor", I think this card is very suitable for this challenge.

Hope you enjoy my challenge cards!

New Release!

Bugaboo digi stamps has new releases on Tuesday.  When you leave here, be sure to head over there and check them out!  Here is the card that I made with one of them.  It reminds me so much of my mother.  She so loved to play bingo!  As you can see, the sentiment says "Support Bingo--Keep Grandma off the Streets".

Love Notes Notepad

I created a fun altered item today, using one of Bugaboo's free digital stamps (hope you downloaded this one--because it is a cutie!!!!!)  It is called ML Single Rose.  With it, I used the notes stamp from Papertrey Ink's Take Note set.  This was DS that I just had on hand, along with cardstock, ribbon, and buttons from Papertrey.
