Freebie Friday!

Yes--Jodie has two freebie images for you at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/.  The first one is called Cowboy in Training, and it is so cute!  It is a young boy dressed like a cowboy, sitting on a log.  I, however, chose to use the other one called A Kid's View--Reading.  Liz has been tutoring a 3rd grader in reading for the past two years.  This volunteer work will end for her at the end of May, and this image was perfect for a card for her student.  I used Papertrey cardstock, DP from my stash, ribbon from Michaels, stick-on letters, and colored my image with copics.  For this young girl, I wanted a very simplistic card--and that is what I made.  The letters say "read a book"--perfect for this occasion, as Liz will be giving her student a book as a going away present.

Isn't this perfect?!

Sew Many Cards Blog Hop

Hopefully, you are arriving here from Sandy O's blog at http://www.papertransformer.com/.  If you just happened to stumble upon my blog, please go back to the beginning point at http://sewmanychallenges.com/.  All of the details of the new release blog hop are there!  Follow along, leave a comment, and enjoy!  Be sure to check out the new release also!  I know there are some cute, cute images:)

My card uses a new image called Olliver Celebrates.  I was so please to get to feature this image because my husband and I are raising a granddaughter, and she graduates from high school this year.  I will be making graduation announcements, party announcements, thank you notes, plus cards for her to give to all of her friends.  This image is perfect!!!!!  I used Papertrey cardstock, SU designer paper, colored with copics, used my circle nestabilities, and added some beautiful Heidi Swapp pearl swirls.  This image had different sentiments that could go in the ballon, but for graduation, I chose "congratulations".  I popped it up on a dimensional.  I know this card will be used!

Next, you want to head over to Taylor's blog at http://taylorusry.blogspot.com/

New Challenge for Bugaboo

Bugaboo has a new challenge for you today!  It is to use the sketch that can be found at http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ in addition to using the theme "April Showers".  Easy peasy, huh?  If you need images, go to http://www.bugaboostamps.com/.  Jodie has some great images to use with this theme.  Our own design team member, Yvonee (Scrappy) designed this sketch for us.  It was so easy to use!  For my card, I used SU cardstock and DP, some ribbon I had in my stash, an embellishment I picked up at Tuesday Mornings, colored my image with copics, added crystal effects to the umbrella and raindrops, used three pearls in the corner, and added a Papertrey sentiment.

This card will be submitted to a challenge at:
Challenge # 55 was April Flowers or April Showers--I chose showers!

Be sure to go to the challenge blog and check out all of the details.  You could be a prize winner!

Friday Freebie! (Post 2 of 2)

Yep--it's Friday alright, so Jodie has some new images for you!  It's also my birthday, so I decided to use the image called cheer monkey.  Since this is a very big birthday for me (I'm now officially a senior citizen), I stayed away from the other new image called Stella--mosquitos.  That image says campers are nature's way of feeding the mosquitos.  I didn't use it because I gave up camping many, many years ago!  I can't relate to it:)  The cheer monkey, however, made a very cute birthday card.  I used SEI designer paper, papertrey cardstock, circle nestabilities, colored with copics, and added two turquoise pieces of bling.  I love the bright colors on this card.  Think I will send it to myself LOL!

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
Challenge 100 is Happy Birthday.

Be sure to head over to http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ and check out the other new images that Jodie has.  Remember to pick up these two freebie images!  You'll love them.

Sew Many Cards

New challenge at www.sewmanychallenges.com/.  The challenge this Friday is "Anything Goes"--my favorite!  Just create; that's all you have to do!  Please play along with us.  For my card, I used some baby paper that I picked up at Tuesday Mornings (they had had some great craft supplies in lately!).  I love these brightly colored babies' feet!  The cardstock and ribbon are Papertrey's new color (Hawaiian Shores), and I used some gorgeous lace that I bought at JoAnn's.  I colored my image with copics and added a tiny star embellishment.  The image (baby on the moon) was mounted on circle nestabilities.  Very sweet little baby card!

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
Challenge was to use a die-cut shape (I used the circle nestabilities).

Oldie but Goodie Day

It's already Thursday!  That means it is "Oldie but Goodie Day" at Bugaboo (http://www.bugaboostamps.com/).  I used an image called Scarlette--cafe, and I love this line.  Many of Jodie's character stamps are funny--but this line is sophisicated!  Great to use for a card for a glamorous lady!  I used Papertrey cardstock and designer paper and ribbon, and colored my image with copics.  I added a tiny pearl to her purse.  That's going to be me this weekend!  (Okay--I'm not that young or that thin--but I may be having a drink!)  Liz left this morning for a four-day band trip, so we are flying off to Las Vegas tomorrow).  Sounds like fun, huh?  If I hit a million dollar slot jackpot, I may never blog again!  (You won't find out until Monday however, as I will leave a couple of autoposts for this weekend!)

This card will be entered into the following challenges:
Challenge was to complete something layered.
Challenge was to create a happy birthday day.
Challenge = It's a Girl Thing.
Challenge 13--Something for the Girls

Happy Earth Day!

We should all be aware of doing all we can for "Mother Earth".  My card today does just that!  It uses a new image from Jodie at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called AKVED earth.  There is a whole line of these images, plus a line called Molly Moo.  Be sure to check them out, as they are really cute!  For my card, I used SU cardstock, some really pretty flocked designer paper from my stash, green grosgrain ribon, a computer generated sentiment, colored the image with copics, -- and added recycled pop tab on the ribbon.  My cardstock for the base was even cardstock that I had stamped on and then decided not to use.  I was able to reline the center of the card with white paper and use the cardstock that I would have thrown away!  I re-used and recycled on this card:)

Be sure to check out Jodie's store today for the new images--and also check out the other design team members to see what they created!  Links to their blogs are on the right side of my blog!

Challenge # 4--Last for the Day! (5 of 5 posts for Today!)

My last card uses one of the newer images from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called BBears Flowers.  I used DCWV black and white mat stack paper, designer paper from Farm Fresh:  Farmhouse, Papertrey cardstock, colored my image with copics, and added Want 2 Scrap Say It with Pearls.

This card will go into a challenge at:
The challenge was to use black, white, and one other color.

Challenge # 3

My third card uses another image from Bugaboo http://www.bugaboostamps.com/  called JJC--September.  I used designer paper from DCWV mat pack, KI hip chip school days accents, PTI ribbon, Papertrey cardstock, and colored my image with copics. With Liz graduating from high school in less than six weeks, I need some of these cards thanking teachers for all of their hard work!  This is a great image to use.

This card will go into the following challenges:
This challenge was to use 10 items.  Mine were:  cardstock base, designer paper, ribbon, pencil, black cardstock, red cardstock, image, apple, star, and super star.
The challenge was to use numbers on your card.

Challenge # 2

My second challenge card uses an image from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called Scarlette--Party.  I used paper from Ruby Lemonade, my rectangle nestabilities, Papertrey cardstock and SU cardstock, plus Papertrey ribbon.  I color the image with copics.

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
The challenge was to create a card using the color scheme of brown, pink, and yellow.  My paper is truly pink (although the color picked up by my camera does not look pink!)  It is!
This is a challenge that is sponsored by Bugaboo this week.

Challenge # 1

I have spent this entire day in my stamping room--what a wonderful day!  Therefore, I will be posting several challenge cards today.  First off is one from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/, and the image is called Margaret--Hurt a Little.  It sure makes a good get well card!  I used SU designer paper, Papertrey cardstock, colored my image with copics, and put the SU sentiment on a piece of chipboard that I bought a Tuesday Mornings.  I used a SCS sketch.

This card will be entered into a challenge at:
The challenge was to make a red and white card.

Sew Many Cards

Back to reality!  Trip over--vacation over--back to school for Liz!  Vacations are fun while they last, though.  We had a great time on our Caribbean cruise.

Now--back to cards!  I really enjoyed getting some "card time" in yesterday!  I'm going to share with you a card I made with a digital image called Bear in Wagon from Sew Many Cards (http://www.sewmanycards.com/)  Check out their entire line; they have some cute images!  For this card, I used Papertrey Ink's new color (Hawaiian Shores) for cardstock and buttons and I love it!  I had some Martha Stewart polka dot paper that just matches!  I also used Papertrey's pure poppy cardstock, added some red pearl bling, and finished up with SU scalloped punch for the sentiment.  I think this little bear image makes a great card for a little boy.

This card will be entered into a challenge at http://justcutebears.blogspot.com/.  The challenge was to create "one for the boys" while using a teddy bear image.  Fun challenge!

Crafty Hos Challenge

It's Sunday, and I am home from my cruise!!!  It's always so wonderful to go on vacation, but it's always wonderful to get back home also:)  Now I have all of that laundry to look forward to.  The Crafty Hos have a sketch challenge for you today.  Be sure to go over to http://craftyhoschallenge.blogspot.com/, and take a good look at all of the cards that the design team members created for you.  Be sure also to check out the wonderful sketch that our very own Scrappy made for us to follow.  Join along and play with us!  It is a great sketch!  Here is my card:

Bugaboo Friday Freebies!

Check this out--Jodie at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ has two freebies for you today--and one of them is a mini set of flowers!  There are seven (that's right--I said seven!!!!) images in it!  I used four of the images and made a set of 3x3 gift enclosure cards.  This are perfect to have on hand to throw in with a gift!  You can punch a hole also, and tie them onto a package like a gift tag.  Really cute! I used Papertrey cardstock and polka dot DP, Papertrey ribbon and buttons, and pearls from my stash.  I colored each image with copics, and added highlights with a sakhura glitter pen.  These are really cute--thank you, Jodie!!!

Okay--so it is not the best photo!  This was not easy to do.  I had one shot ready, pushed the button just as all of the cards fell over.  Took another picture, and had one card sideways.  This is as good as it gets:)

Sew Many Cards

How exciting!  This is my very first post as a member of the Sew Many Cards design team!  Thanks for letting me be a part of it.  Today's challenge is a dual theme:  use the sketch below--and create a card with a Mother's Day theme.  Be sure to head over to http://sewmanychallenges.com/ to check out all of the details, and make plans on creating a card for this challenge!  For my card, I used Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, DCWV Mat Stack black and white paper (tricked you there, huh, since I knew what paper this was!), Studio 8 rhinestones, and I colored the image (Owen with Roses) with copics.  Isn't this little fellow sweet--with roses to give to his Mom for Mother's Day!

Be sure to check out the challenge blog--and be sure to play along with us!

Tuesday = New Release

Yes, I am still on my cruise--but I made up a few posts before I left.  Today, Jodie at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ is releasing two new lines; one is a flower line, and the other is cranky old Margaret!  When I saw this image, I thought sure the sentiment was going to be "I'm this old because children such the life out of me!"  My husband and I are raising a granddaughter--so I can relate to that sentiment!  I thought sure it was a new line for Mother's Day.  Oh well, this sentiment is good also, because Mondays can be bad.  For me (a retired person) they are just another day  I can remember, however that I used to hate them:)

For my card, I used my new Janome sewing machine.  I think I am going to love it!  I stitched some designer papers together.  I used three different papers, SU and Papertrey cardstock, Papertrey ribbon, and colored my image with copics.

Be sure to go to http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ and check out the cards that the rest of the design team made.  Then head order to http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ and check out the new stamps.  Don't forget our blog hop!

Crafty Hos Challenge

It's Sunday--so that means that the Crafty Hos have a challenge for you.  The challenge is to make a card/project and use pastels!  I decided to make a baby card.  I used an image from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called Moon Baby Sweet Dreams.  Isn't this a sweet image?  I colored it with copics, used DP from my stash (of course!), used Papertrey cardstock and ribbon, circle nestabilities, and added stickles to the moon.  I used my new Papertrey scallop die to "fancy up" the border of the paper.  Such a cute baby card!

Be sure to go to the blog at http://craftyhoschallenge.blogspot.com/ and see what the other ladies have designed.  Please, won't you play along with us this week?  Make a card using pastel colors.

Since it's Sunday, that also means that it is time to vote for Team Ho!  We have made it all the way to round e--and want to keep going!  Since I created this post before I left home, I cannot leave you with a direct link to our entry (it's not even made yet!)  I'm going to give you a link to Joy's blog.  I know she will have a direct link for you--and maybe even be offering some type of a bribe in case you cast your vote for us.  Please do vote.  Here's her link:
Thanks!

Catch the Bug Blog Hop!

Welcome!  Hopefully you just arrived here from Melissa's blog.  If not, please go back to the beginning at http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ and start there.  You will find all of the complete instructions, directions, prizes, etc!  Read them carefully--as you could be a winner at Bugaboo!  Read my blog carefully also, as there might be a surprise here for you!  Also, be sure to leave me a comment:)  Our cards today feature a bug.  I used an image from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called Butterfly Bear 4.  She's a cute little butterfly with a bear face!  I colored the image with copics, used some beautiful paper that I received in a monthly swap, Papertrey cardstock, a Stamping Bella sentiment in a SU punch, added lace--and my bug is this pretty green butterfly!  I did add a little stickles to make the butterfly bear sparkle a little!

When you leave here, go to Angie's blog

Have fun!

Would you like to catch a bug?  You can!  Check this out:

This little cutie is available at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/.  There are more in this line!  I can't wait to get some of these.  You, too, can "Catch a Bug".

Friday Freebie Day!

Not only is this Friday Freebie Day at Bugaboo Stamps, but it is the day I leave for vacation!  I thought it would never get here.  Jodie, at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/, has two freebies for you today--ladybug in a jar and Pansy.  Pansy is really cute, but I decided to use the ladybug in the jar.  Although you can't tell from the picture, I used an exacto knife and cute out the jar.  I placed that part of the image behind a piece of acetate so it really does look like it is in a jar.  I used Papertrey cardstock, colored the image with copics, added red polka ribbon and buttons from Papertrey, and used the two stick leaf pins that I bought from Taylored Expressions.

Be sure to go to the http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ and check out the cards that the rest of the design team made.  Then stop over to http://www.bugaboostamps.com/, pick up your two freebies, and check out the rest of the line.  Be sure to come back tomorrow for our Blog Hop!

Challenge Card + Thanks!

Look at this!  My friend Audrey (on the Bugaboo Design Team + the Crafty Hos Challenge Team) sent this to me!  I met Audrey through Splitcoast Stampers--and got to meet her last summer before I started working with her.  Since then, we even manage to get together occasionally either to stamp, shop, or lunch (or sometimes all three!)  Thank you, Audrey.  So sweet of you to think of me!  Now, enough about me!

I found this paper in my stash--and knew I had to put this image on it!  The image is from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ and is called Rainy Day Bear--Raindrops.  I used both sides of the paper, Papertrey cardstock, colored with copics, and used two stamps (sentiment and boots) from Papertrey.  I put crystal effects on the raindrops and umbrella, and added glitter dots to the image and to hold on the boots.

This card will be entered into challenges at:
Challenge # 38 is Anything Goes
Challenge = Animal magic
Challenge # 51 = April Showers
Challenge # 12 = Animal Antics
Challenge = April Showers

Tuesday = New Release

Tuesday--one day closer to the weekend, but also New Release Day at http://www.bugaboostamps.com/.  Jodie has two releases today--the first one is a beach crab.  The image is really cute, and will make a great summer card.  The other one, however, is the one I chose to use--Red Hat Stella!  When I retired from teaching, one of my students gave me the book "When I Am Old, I Shall Wear Purple".  Like Stella, though, I would add a red hat to that!  Love this image.  I used Papertrey cardstock, DP from a valentine pack I had, DP from Papertrey, two crocheted flowers, two felt flowers from Michaels, Papertrey ribbon, and purple bling.  The sentiment "red hats are just like Men's tools...the bigger the better!" came with the image. Be sure you check the Bugaboo challenge blog every Sunday.  Our DT member, Yvonne "Scrappy" creates a sketch each week for us.  This sketch was one of hers.  Love it!

This will be entered into the following challenges:
R is for Red
Challenge = humorous

DON'T FORGET--IF YOU HAVE NOT VOTED FOR TEAM HO IN THE GREETING FARM CARD CONTEST, PLEASE DO SO NOW!  TO TO THE LINK, LOG IN, AND LEAVE A COMMENT!  WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!!!!!  Thank you.

Challenge # 2

My second card uses a new image from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ called JJ Calendar Months--June.  I love this bride image!  I found a scrap of wedding paper in my stash, used Papertrey cardstock, some lace I bought at JoAnn's, some ribbon from my stash, and a flower I bought at Michaels.  I colored this image with copics and ran a gold pen around the edges of the images.  I used a sakhura pen to accent her headpiece, necklace, and wedding gown.

This card will go into challenges at:
Challenge = W (for wedding)
Challenge = lace and bows
Challenge # 53 - Sugar and Spice
Challenge = sparkle

Don't forget to go to the Greeting Farm and vote for the card made by Team Ho.  To vote, you leave a comment.  You must be logged in to leave a comment.

Challenge # 1

Ah, Monday--the start of a new week!  This is a good one for me, however, as Liz's spring break starts on Friday.  Grandpa does not have vacation time, so he suggested that Liz and I take a vacation without him.  Without much persuasion, we agreed.  We fly to Fort Lauderdale on Friday, and board a cruise ship on Saturday for a one-week Caribbean vacation.  Liz envisions days packed full of fun--staying busy in the teen program on the ship.  I envision sitting by the pool, reading, maybe having a fou fou drink--and doing nothing!  I think we will both be happy.  I made a lot of cards over the weekend, in between cooking for the company we had today.  First card is from http://www.bugaboostamps.com/ and is from one of the newer lines called Critter Balloons--Mouse.  I used three different types of designer paper, Papertrey and SU cardstock, pink brads, my square nestabilities, and colored this image with copics.

This card will be entered into two challenges:
Challenge was to use 3 papers, 2 brads, and one embellishment.
Challenge was to use 3 of something (paper), 2 of something (brads), and 1 of something (embellishment--ribbon)

Crafty Hos Challenge

Today, the challenge for the Crafty Hos is to make a card with something recycled.  For me, thinking about this was difficult, but once I got a thought in place, it was not difficult at all!  I used Papertrey kraft cardstock, DP from my stash, a strip from the corrugated packaging that Papertrey's cardstock comes in, flowers made from book pages and blossoms nestabilities, a Papertrey button, and a sentiment stamp from Hero Arts.  In the future, I think I would distress the edges of the flower a little.  If you need a quick card, this certainly is an easy one!

Oldie But Goodie Day!

Oh, I love this card!  I used one of Jodie's newer images (http://www.bugaboostamps.com/) called BB Cheerleader Girl.  I found some Bo Bunny two-sided paper (and used both sides!), used my new Papertrey Hawaiian Shores cardstock and ribbon, added red Papertrey buttons, colored with copics, and added turquoise stickles.

This card will be entered into a challenge at http://cookingitupwithkatie.blogspot.com/.  There was a recipe to use something new (the cardstock and ribbon), something old (the paper--I bought it over a year ago), and something sweet (that adorable image!)
